The Second Red Scare
The red scare was a nationwide fear of communists, socialists, anarchists, and other dissents that suddenly grabbed the American psyche in 1919 following a series of anarchist bombing. People who were suspected of being communist suffered jail time . This lead to the creation of the House Unamerican Activities Commission,which targeted mainly Hollywood stars. Around this time Senator Joe McCarthy was senator, he howevevr did a terrible job. He accused people of being communist without proof. -
Berlin Airlift
The Soviet Unoin blocked off the western sectors of Berlin, including the railroads and the roads. The allied forces acted against this by forming the Berlin Airlift, they flew supplies in to the people. -

Military allience made by signing the North Atlantic Treaty. -
The Korean War
After World War 2 Korea was divided in 2 parts. This division took palce along the 38th parallel and the demorcratrion line. North Korea was occupied by the Demorcratic People's Republic, while South Korea was occupied by the Republic of korea. During this war 54,246 soldiers lives of soldiers were lost. Soldiers were moving south and then were pushed back up north. The war lasted for 3 years and finally was over when the armistice was signed on July 27, 1953.
