  • Slave revolt in New York City

    The New York Slave revolt happened in 1712 where 23 black slaves killed 9 people and injured 6 others. 27 slaves where trialed and 21 where executed.
  • French and Indian war

    The french and Indian war begins
  • Braddocks defeat

    Braddock did not believe in working with the Indians however they where ambushed by Indians and suffered a huge defeat. Braddock was shot three times and died three days later
  • New British king

    King George II is found dead by a ruptured artery. His twenty two year old grandson is pronounced king. King George III is a strong willed leader that led to the defeat of France and Spain in the 7 years war.
  • The Treaty of Pairs

    The treaty of Paris gave all of France lands to the English. However they gave Spain the Louisiana Territory which included the port of New Orleans. This left France with no ties to North America.
  • Proclamation Act of 1763

    The proclamation act of 1763 created an imaginary line over the Appalachian mountains forbidding colonist to settle west of the mountains
  • The Sugar Act of 1764

    They cut the taxes in half on mo lases and placed more taxes on sugar,wine, coffee, and spices. Colonist claimed they were being taxed without their consent
  • The Stamp Act

    The stamp act required colonists to purchase British paper and it taxed every form of paper from playing cards to news papers. This outraged everyone in the colonies.
  • The Boston Massacre

    Towns people of Boston start throwing stuff at British soldiers and knock one down he fires and the rest of the soldiers fire behind him. 5 died and more than 8 were wounded. Over 10,000 colonist attended each of the funerals.

    The Boston Tea Party was were the patriots dressed has Mohawk Indians and dumped 46 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Military conflict at Lexington (start of the revolutionary war

    General Gage comes to arrest rebel leaders such as Sam Adams. The patriots get wind and Paul revere makes his famous midnight ride. No one knows who fired first but it is called the shot heard around the world.

    The colonists declare independence from Britain and Thomas Jefferson writes the Deceleration of Independence.
