  • Battle of Tannenberg

    Battle of Tannenberg
    This battle was a German victory. This battle was the destruction of the Second Russian Army. This ended Russian's invasion of East Prussia. The troops were lead by Paul Von Hidenburg.

    Conducted between the sixth and the twelft of September. The outcome brought the end of the war movement. The German advancing halted and trench warefare was used. The German's lost this battle
  • First Battle of Ypres

    First Battle of Ypres
    This battle was located near the Chanel ports in Belgium, Flanders. The Beligan city of Ypres had been the first seen of numerous battles since the 16th century. The people started attacking from the sea. By October 1914 the allies reached Nieuport of the North Sea Coasts. The germans as a beginning, to Gerenal Erich Von Falkenhayn's offense captured Antwerp, it forced Belgian, the defenders, back to Nieuport, near Ypres.
  • Second Battle of Ypres

    Second Battle of Ypres
    A major battle launched by Germany on the Western front. Erich Von Falkenhayn perferred to focus german efforts aganinst Russians on the Eastern Front. This battle was the first testing of Chlorine Gas. There was 5700 canisters that had 168 tons of gas. It was a failure, as a result germany gave up its attepmts to take up the town. So instead they crushed it. Ypres by the end of the war, became a pile of ruble.
  • Battle Verdun

    Battle Verdun
    The Germans took over Verdun and the rings of forts around it. it was the longest battle of the first world war. Erich Von Falkenhayn sent a letter to the kaiser on christmas 1915, and he agreed that the western front was the key to winning the war.
  • Battle of Jutland

    Battle of Jutland
    The greatest navel battle of the first world War. Mainly between Britian and Germany, both fleets were almost equal in size and scale. But Britian could read Germany's coded messages and they knew what to expect. In May the German commander Scheer expected only to meet Admiral Beattuy's battle cruiser squaeron, however the royal navy knew he was coming. The entire grand fleet was at the battle.
  • Battle of Somme

    Battle of Somme
    It was an ally to attack the French and British against germany. It was onthe western front and was planned in 1915 by Commander and Chief Goffre. It is famous becuse it was the loss of 58,000 british troops, one third of them being killed. Launched against a 30 km front from the north of Somi River, ran from July 1st to November 18th, at which point it was called off.
  • The Battle of Cambrai

    The Battle of Cambrai
    It was the first use of tanks. By autumn, the tanks had become much more efficient and much more popular. The Germans had adapted the most effective tank, but the British tanks were in tough competition. The attack was duely launched at dawn on November 20 with all of the available tanks advanced across the 10 km front. Two calvary dividions.

    It was the last major German offense of battle in the war. It developed into a significant ally voctory. It because clear that Germans had lost faith in the crown. The battle took place from july 15th until august 5th. General Erich Ludendroff, the German Chief of Staff, decided that the War could best be won by and attack in Flanders.
  • St. Mihiel Offensive

    St. Mihiel Offensive
    General Billy Mitchell created an enormous armada consisting of 1400 U1 airplanes, 26 US, 61 French, and and 3 Italian Squadrants, also 9 British squadrants for assistance. The force was unleashed on September 12th 1918. He used 1/3 of his force for direct support of the front line. The germans retreated to prevent being surrounded, within a week St. Mitchell was regained by the allie for the first time since 1914.
