  • Bismarck's rise to power

    William I became the King of Prussia. Bismarck didn't like democracy, he belived that the state, not the people, should hold authority. Bismarck wanted to expand prussia he beleved it was destimy to lead german people to unification.Bismarck collected taxes without their approval.
  • The Danish war.

    The population between the states of Schleswig and holstien was german. King christain IX took the danish throne. Prussia and Denmark had a peace treaty after three months of fighting (war).
  • The Seven weeks' war.

    The Treaty of Prague ended in seven weeks'. Austria surrenderd to prussia. A year or so later German states united with prussia. They united and formed and confederation. The king of Prussia was president of this North German Confederation. Prussia dominated the legislature of the confederation.
  • The Fanco-Prussian War.

    Bismarck had to persuade independent staes to join the North germen Confederation. French declared war on prussia.The Fanco- Prussia war was short but decisive. the prussia's defeated the French.
