South Carolina demands the US Army abandon the military base near Charleston, South Carolina. When asked to exacuate the Fort, Major Anderson decides it to be best for his men's safety and leaves Fort Sumter without a shot being fired. BG Beauregard escorts Major Anderson and his troops to the boarder of South Carolina where they are set free. The next day, President Lincoln declares war on the Confederate States of America.
