This timespan shows the life of Anthony Jhonson and sons through the diminishing of progress .Anthony Jhonson was first a slave. Then he was granted land and made a plantation. Later as progress diminished his sons rights were slowly taken away until they had nothing. -
Act X
Prior to this law any person could own a gun.Act X states that all persons except negros to be provided with arms and ammunition or be fined at pleasure of the governor or council.
This is diminishing progress because now Africans have no means of protection. -

Court Document A states that Anthony Johnson aquired land in Northhampton County. The land was given to him by Captain Taylor.This shows that African Americans at one point in time could own land. -

According to Act XII negro womens children to serve according to the status of the mother. If the mother is a slave the child is a slave.
This is diminishing progress because children should have the right to choose their career path. -
Act VI
According to Act VI any slave who steals a hog shall recieve 39 lashes on the bare back. Then as a second offence shall stand for two hours in the pillary and have his ears nailed then at the expiration of the two hours shall have his ears cut close to the nails.This is diminishing progres because this is dehumanization and they are treating their slaves more like a toy that you throw away than an employee that you depend on. -

According to Act I an act about the casual killing of slaves. If any slave resist his master by the extremity of the correction should chance to die.
This is diminishing progress because this is a very sadistic punishment that takes away simple human rights
