    Lewis and Clark had a successful voyage upstream the Missouri River, and out into the west, and successfully mapped a route to the west coast of the Louisiana Purchase. They both felt they accomplished much, but thought it was a small task to complete. The effects of their trip encouraged people to set out into the west and live in the newly accquired land that was the west in the 1800s.
