Kennedy makes the move
He announces the blockade and asks the USSR to remove the missiles "I call on Chairman Khrushchev to halt and eliminate this reckless and provocative threat to world peace... He has the opportunity now to move the world back from the abyss of destruction... removing these weapons from Cuba." -
Kennedy recieves a letter from Krushchev
The letter says that the Soviet ships will ignore the blockade and continue to move. He also denies the presence of any nuclear missiles. -
