Believed to be one of the first humanists and lived to 1374. He was a famous scholar and teacher and also wrote poetry, also famous for writing Sonnets to Laura, an imaginary ideal woman.

The year that scholars believed Johannes Gutenburg of Mainz Germany, became the first European to use movable type to print books. He used his printing press to make actually copies of the Bible. Many disliked Gutenburg's idea of the copies but his work was economic and social as well.

During the 1500s the village life began to take affect. With printed works, traveling preachers and more. Broadsides began to appear as like a royal decree or some type of news.

To the 1530s, when hundreds of new religious groups ended up in Germany and Switerland and they did not form organized churches. They really didnt have discipline, membership or rules and had a preacher for their leader they later died out.

Reigned as pope to the year 1549. He was known as a good and spiritual outlook on the Catholic Church. He appointed devout and learned men as bishops and cardinals.

Through 1563 the Council Of Trent met during these years 3 times. They were together to end the surrounding sale of indulgences and to tighten discipline within the clergy.
