  • The Radio

    The radio changed how people got messages to each other, by allowing them to transmit their voice hundreds now today thousands of miles. Radio are now used in military warfare, cars, intercomes, all sorts of things.

    With the telephone we could now talk to people thousands miles away. This made new jobs and a bunch of new inprovments to our tech.

    Henery Ford alowed adverage people to buy cars. Before this only the rich had these. Cars alowed people to spread out and move places faster.

    The movement of over 2 million African American out of the southern states because of racisim killings and job oppertonities
  • 18th Amendment

    The amendment of the U.S. Constitution banned the manufacture, sale, and transportation of alcohol it was repealed by the 21st Amendment in 1933.

    The 19th amendement womens right blah blah blah so we let them be equal big whoop it took the a while to get it so we made them work blah blah
  • Emergency Quota Act

    The objective of this act was to temporarily limit the numbers of immigrants to the United States by imposing quotas based on country of birth. Annual allowable quotas for each country of origin were calculated at 3 percent of the total number of foreign-born persons from that country recorded in the 1910 United States Census
  • The 1924 Immigration Act

    The 1924 Immigration Act set quotas that limited annual immigration from particular countries. The legislation identified who could enter as a "non-quota" immigrant; this category included wives and unmarried children (under 18 years of age) of US citizens, residents of the Western hemisphere, religious or academic professionals, and “bona-fide students” under 15 years of age. Those not in any of these categories were referred to as a “quota immigrant” and were subject to annual numerical limita

    With TV being made this allowed americans to watch the world in the comfort of their homes. People could watch the new and not have to read the paper. It allowed people to see things they probably couldnt even imagin.

    Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 11% at the open in very heavy volume, precipitating the Wall Street crash of 1929 and the subsequent Great Depression of the 1930s.

    The crash of the stock market that stopped the roaring 20's and caused the Great Depression

    Caught in the middle of the Great Depression Franklin Roosivelt took president and kept his word. The country gain some recovery with The New Deal which started Social Security, heavier taxes on the wealthy, new controls over banks and public utilities, and an enormous work relief program for the unemployed.

    This is the abolish of the prohabition. This is when booze became legal again.

    With the passing of Washington State Senate Bill No. 185 Governor Martin was able to force a temporary closure of all state banks.

    Congressional bills enacted to provide funds for college educations, home-buying loans, and other benefits for armed-services veterans.

    Built in the 30's as the Boulder dam but was renamed Hoover Dam after the 31st president.
