  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    Mayflower Compact is an early agreement that stated the king and offiers, he appoints, have ultimate power over colonies, settlers agree on the compact.

    French and Indian War

    Britian won the war and gained control of the Ohio Valley and Canada, they were formerly controled by France. After they gained control of these areas, Britian stationed more troops in the colonies.

  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The British enacted this on Americans saying they must buy stamps to place on their deeds, mortgages, liquor licenses, playing cards, almanacs, and newspapers. The Brittish ended up repealing the Stamp Act.

  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts where put in place, by the Bristish, to rasie revenue. "...there shall be raised, levied, collected and paid, unto his Majesty...for and upon the respective goods hereinafter mentioned, which shall be imported from Great Britain into any colony or plantation in America which now is, or hereafter may be, under the dominion of his Majesty... the several rates and duties....."
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Angry frustrated American colonists were suffering under the Brittish tax on tea. They decided to throw the boxes of tea into the harbour to express their hatred for the the Tea Tax. As a result the Brittish put out the Boston Port Act.

    Battles at Lexington and Concord
    The battles of Lexington and Concord marked the begining of the American Revolution. The goal of the Brittish was to capture some rebels and destroy their ammunition.

    A document created by the founding fathers that declared their independence from Brittian and established citizens rights and the power of the government.
