  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    Helped end the French and Indian war by creating peace with France and Britain. The treaty concluded that France gave Britain all the mainland and in return, Britain was to restore the West Indian islands. People included: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Laurens. Lead to the revolution: It showed that there could be peace, little did they know it wouldn't last.     Proclamation of 1763
    "Declared all lands west of the Appalachian Divide off-limits to colonial settlers. The edict forbade private citizens and colonial governments alike to buy land from or make any agreements with natives; the empire would conduct all official relations."     Sugar Act
    "The Act reduced the rate of tax on molasses and listed more foreign goods to be taxed including sugar, certain wines, coffee, pimiento, cambric and printed calico, and further, regulated the export of lumber and iron."     "The act prohibited the issue of any new bills and the reissue of existing currency. The colonies protested vehemently against this.
