    End of the French and Indian war

    The French and Indian war ended in 1763 due to the treaty of Paris. The war began and 1754 and ended in 1763 meaning it lasted roughly 9 years. The treaty of Paris ended the war because it formally established the United States as an independent nation. The colonists were happy that they were now a free country but they were now troubled because they had a whole new set of problems to face.

    The sugar act was established by British parliament on April 5th 1764. The sugar act actually decreased the tax of sugar, but taxes were now enforced and the government was now begging to crackdown on smugglers. Sugar ,molasses and other goods would now have to be paid for in order to be brought into the United States. The colonists were outraged, they were suffering from the taxes and revolted against the laws.

    The stamp act insured that every piece of paper used and printed would be taxed. Obviously, colonists were outraged because this tax was extremely unfair and these people could not afford to pay these taxes.
