    The Seven Years' War had ended with the signing of the treaties of Hubertusburg and Paris in February 1763. Shortly after winning the French and Indian War. The British government reserved all land between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi River for Americans Indians. In result, American colonists were very angry at that decision.

With the Molasses Act colonial merchants were required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses. This was a huge disruption to the Boston and New England economies because sugar and molasses was a staple to make rum, a main export in their trade with other countries. The sugar act was unfair and was forced upon the people.
