    French and Indian War Ends
    The war between France and the Indians ends and Britian is left with huge debt. Colonists are happy to be done fighting a battle that wasn't theirs.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was passed as a tax on sugar. The colonist felt this was unfair as they shouldn't have to pay for Britian's debts.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was passed to require all paper to have a stamp on it and the stamps were not free. This infuriated the colonists, especially the ones who use paper on a daily basis for work or other means.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    After the colonists rebelled because of the Stamp and Sugar Acts, Britian passed an act saying that they can tax them if they want to, they have a right. The colonists disliked this act as well, as they didn't want to pay for Britian's debt and problems when they were trying to start a country of their own.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend acts were a series of acts that were passed to tax the colonists. Similarly to the other acts, the colonists rebelled and it led to the British passing more acts and even causing a massacre.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    This time, the British taxed the colonists on tea. The made the tea cheaper and produced more of it. Instead of being happy, the colonists felt disrespected, as tea was something that they thought highly of. The colonists, specifically the Sons of Liberty, proceeded to dress up as Indians and dump about 4 million dollars worth of tea into the ocean.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    All of these acts and acts of rebellion led to the revolutionary war. The colonists wanted to be free from the reign of Britain and their harsh ruling and then came the revolutionary war.
