-The crisis is between the ability to develop trust when an infant's needs are cared for versus developing mistrust when their needs are not met during a time of crisis. -
-Jasemine's (age 3) mom likes to keep everything clean and tidy. Whenever Jasemine tries to feed herself, her mom takes over for her and says "No jazzy, you're getting food everywhere, let Mommy take care of you".
-In Erikson's second stage, Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt.
-The crisis is between developing a sense of independence through encouragement versus developing a sense of dependency through criticism.
