Joined Cub Scouts
Thia is what started a life long love of scouting. In the next few years he will learn many skills that will help him for the rest of his life. He learned about being a leader, knots, and working with others. -

Zach earned the rank of Eagle in Boy Scouts
Zach earned the highest award in Scouting and that had a huge impact on his life. This is a major goal he completed. He learned many useful life skills from Scouts such as first aid and emergency prepairdness. These two merit badges he earned,helped him found out what he wanted to do with his life was be a Firefighter/ Paramedic. He had to meet many rigorous requirements and it took a lot of time for him to achieve this acomplishment. -

Graduates North High school
Zach graduated high school with out doing much at North, but he said that he learnd the most from a program where North students go to the Technical College of Dupage. There he took firefighter1 and EMT. The teachers that influnced him the most were Captian Burke, Lt Beckmann, Lt Kramer, and Lt. Garner and all of them have had the largest impact on his development. -

Is a Paramedic on Buds Ambulance
This is the completion of long time goal too be a paramedic and a step on his way to becoming a Firefighter. He said he would do this choose to do this again. Through this job Zach experienced his biggest failure that has spurred him to do better and work harder. He had his first pediatric full arrest and ended up lossing a two year old girl. This was hard on him to tell the girls mother and this caused him to work harded so that he would never have to tell another mother that again. -
Deliverd a baby
Using the lifesaving skills he learned in school he helps the community daily basis. He pust his life on the line and does his best tot save everyone he treats. One of his biggest story is that he delivered a baby on Christmas day. -

Studying at Community College of Dupage
He is studying Fire Science at COD. This is another step on his goal to becoming a Firefighter. He told me that school has not failed him on the contrary it prepaired him very well. He also said that his studies have heped him do his job to the best of his ability. If he does not know how to do something he studies more so he has that skill the next time he needs it. -
Got married to Megan
This is the start of another chapter in his life. This adds more stress and responsibility to his life but he said he cannot be happier. Also this starts his goal of starting a family. -
Goals and looking forward
He is still hoping to become a Firefighter and he is willing to do what he has to to make that happen and Megan will be there to support him. Also his future goals are to have a family, save as many lives as he can, and to continue helping those in need. -
Zach's Advice
Zach believes that being a successfull person means you have met or are working on your goals and are happy doing what you do. He thinks the most important thing to tell a young person is that they need to enjoy life but also need to give to those less fortunate and help others. Zach has devoted his life to helping others and that is an amazing thing to do. Helping the less fortunate or people in need is something very important to Zach -
Personal Reflection
I am inpressed with what he has acomplished and cannot wait to see what he will do. His valuse match up with mine well because I believe in service to others and helping the less fortunate. I am also an Eagle Scout and I know how much work that takes. Learning about his life the most shocking thing was him lossing that girl. I picked Zach because he is a role model and was a scout like me and I have done similar things with my life like Zach did. What he does makes me feel I have to help more
