The Nazi party is the majority party in Germany when Hitler is appointed chancellor of the country.

Hitler is elected chancellor of Germany. During that same election a total of 230 govermental seats were given to Nazis. They made up over half of the Reichstag.

Japan withdraws themselves from the league of Nations after they have already broken the Treaty of Versaillees. The League of nations chooses appeasement towards these actions.

Hitler demands Czechloslovakia and the immediate excavation of the population. The Czechs mobilizes the military the next day. War seemed very imminant at this point.

16 Americam B-25 bombers attack the Japanese mainland. The attack was lead by Colonel James H. Doolittle. The attack did little damage to Japan but damaged Japanese prestiege.

Battle of MidwayOne of the most desicive US wins over Japan in WWII. During 4-day sea and air battle the US takes down 4 Japenese naval ships, while the US only looses one. Prior to this the Japanese navy seemed unstoppable.

Germany invades the Russian city of Stalingrad. Considered by the Russians as the greatest of their Great Patriotic War. One of the bloodiest battles in history. Germany thought they would overtake the Russians quickly, the Germans actually loose the battle.

D-DayThe allied powers invade the German forces via Normandy, France. This was a form of surprise attack.

A plot to kill Hitler failed when a bomb planted in the nazi leaders breifcase went off and did not kill him. When the attempted murderers were found out they were executed.

One last offensive attempt by Germany to take over the war. Made desertion an issue for U.S. troops. Man was executed for desertion for the first time since the Civil War.

U.S. and Great Britian celebrate German defeat. Germans all over Europe surrender and become prisoners of war.

B-29 Bomber Plane drops Little Boy (World's 1st A bomb) on the city of Hiroshima. About 80 thousand were killed by the initial blast.

The United States drops another atom bomb on Japan, this time on Nagasuki finally forcing Japan to surrender the war.

24 high-ranking Nazis go on trial in Nuremberg,Germany for etrocities that happened during WWII. On October 1, 1946, 12 Nazi leaders were sentenced to death. Seven others were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 years to life, and three were found to be innocent.

Tojo Hideki, wartime leader of Japan was put on trial for war crimes he was eventually found guilty and was hanged by the Americans in 1948.
