Countries signed the treaty at the end of the WWI, in this treaty they blamed Germany because of everything, so they couldn´t expand or have an army. -
Treaty of Versailles
Was a treaty signed at the end of the WWI in which Germany was blamed of the war, the treaty didn´t allow Gemany to have an army or to expand, also it made Germany pay all the countries for the hurts they had done during the war. -
Arrival of Hitler to the power
A new political party from extreme rights,appeared in Germany in opposition with the treaty of Versailles, its leader was Hitler.
He promised proposals agaist the treaty to make Germany great again and to create the "Lebensraum" a space for German people which was won by conquering territories. -
Japan
Japan invaded Manchuria, in China and went out for the league of nations because they didn´t let them conquer China, finally three years later they ended up invading China. -
Italy
They were planning to conquer Abyssinia,because as they were not given the lands they were promised they followed the German idea of conquering lands by themselves.
The league of Nations was called from Abyssinia, which put economic santions to Italy for conquering the territories.
Italy don´t accept them and ended up being closer to Germany -
Germany conquests
As Germany wanted to expand it began conquering
the Rhineland, something forbiden in the treaty of versailles. They created a secret army to do so. -
Alliance
Spain began the Civil War and hitler and mussolini helped Franco sending him weapons for trying them and also troops.
This military help to Spain led to the Rome-Berlin axis , an alliance and later on Japan joined forming the Pact of Steel. -
Pact of Iron
This is an Alliance between Germany, Italy and Japan. It's also called the Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis. -
Conquer of Austria and Poland. Beggining of the IIWW
Austria: wanted to do a referéndum to keep their independance, but Hitler was quicker and invaded it before the referéndum took place. England and France made nothing to avoid it.
Poland: England and France tried to protect its Independence, but Germany divided Poland between the Sovietic Union and Germany. -
The Axis Victories
At the beggining of the war, Germay won all the battles. Great Britain was the only country which resisted to German assaults. -
The USA joined the war
Due to the attack from part of the Japanese to Pearl Harbour,USA faught in the war. -
The USSR joined the war
Due to an attack in Russia from part of the Germans (attacked Leningrad and Moscow), the Sovietic Union faught in the war. -
Germany Surrended
The allied countries organised and they started to win battles. finally, berlin was conquered by the Soviets, and they surrended. -
Japan Surrended
After several attacks, the Americans saw that the Japanese didn't wanted to surrend, so they threw two atomic bombs in Hiroshima and in Nagasaki. The effects of the bombs were devastating. Japan, finally, surrended. -
