    on May 18, 1917, the selective service was passed which gave the federal government the permission to start building up the military. this was achieved by drafting men between the ages of 18, and 25 to join the military.
  • kellogg-Briand pact signed

    The Kellogg-Brand pact was an agreement to make the declaration and signing of war outlawed in the united states. the fallout of world war 1 was so great that we made sure that we wouldn't get involved with war anymore.
  • Japan Invades Manchuria

    The Japanese attacked the Chinese to try to further their land and holdings in Asia. This event is more commonly known as the Manchuria Incident.
  • Hitler is named Nazi leader

    Hitler has quickly rose to power in the Nazi political party and has spread his ideals across the nation gaining popularity with the German people. This was achieved by Hitler's superior speaking abilities and his relations with the German people.
  • Enabling Act of !933 is Issued

    this act gave Hitler An abundance of power by making him able to pass laws without any German vote from the president or houses. this was a four year limit that was voted on twice while Hitler was chancellor.
  • Neutrality Act of 1935 Signed

    the Neutrality act was an act passed to Embargo the sale of weapons for the wartime effort to so called Belligerent nations. This was because many people did not want to actually fight because of how horrific world war one was but still wanted to help the allies.
  • FDR wins third term as president

    FDR has gained a lot of popularity for his programs to help Americans out in the great depression. The TVA and many other government programs quickly made him the president of the times.
  • Hitler declares war on the United States

    Hitler wanted to Declare war on the United States first, and if japan defeated the United States, then it would be able to help The Germans defeat Russia In Europe. that was not the case as the U.S. was not as weak as they thought and helped bring victory to the allies
  • Lend Lease Program Enabled

    The lend lease program was an act that was passed to help the allied nations without getting overly involved with the war effort as congress and much of the American people did not want any part of it. Selling weapons to nations like Great Britain was considered necessary for the Security and protection of the United States.
  • A Phillip Randolphs march and Rosevelts responce

    The founder of the brotherhood of the sleeping car porters, wanted to march on Washington D.C. to show that there was Discriminants against African Americans in the military. President Roosevelt did not support due to the angerment of the white populace at the time and signed an executive order to halt the march.
  • Japanese Attack Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese attacked an American Military base in the pacific known as pearl harbor destroying many U.S. Destroyers and killing many American serviceman and destroying over 160 aircraft. The Japanese later regretted that they Attacked the United States as we Proved very effective on both front furthering the allied victories in the war.
