    On January 10th 1901 what many texans had been dreaming about finally came true. They had struck oil and gallon after gallon was being produced. What the men called black gold kept on coming and coming. This lead Texas to being one of the worlds biggest leader in oil producing.
  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    Sinking of the Lusitania
    On May 7th 1915 the Lusitania was happily sailing. But when it entered a war zone Germany suspected that they were carrying guns, ammo, and supplies to the soliders in war. The german submarines fired and sank the Lusitania that was compeletely filled with civilians and Americans to. This was what made tensions even higher with America and the Central Powers. Later the British did say that they were carrying supplies but the passengers were not given enough time to get out of the Lusitania.

    Zimmerman Telegram
    In January of 1917 British soliders decoded a telegram that was being sent from germany to Mexico. But beofore it could reach Mexico the British sent it to the U.S. The telegram read that if Mexico were to join forces with the Central Powers and to invade America Germany would give back all the land that was lost in the Mexican Succession back to Mexico. This is what lead the U.S. to enter the first World War also known as the War to end all Wars

    January 16th 1919 the 18th amendment was passed. The 18th amendment did not out law alcohol, but limites the sale of it. But by October 27th 1919 the manufactoring, transportation, and sale of alcohol was completely out lawed. Prohibition lasted from 1920 to 1933.

    On August 18th 1920 the 19th amendment was finally passed. the 19th amendment granted voting rights for all women. Finally what women had been working on for over 70 years finally came true.

    October 24th 1929 also known as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 helped put the Great Depression into effect. The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1939 and was one of the worst things to ever happen to America. And with no food, water, clean clothes, or money over 7 million people starved to death during the these 10 years that no one will ever forget.

    On December 7th 1941 Japan started their plan that they had been planning for over a year. They sent plane after plane to bomb Pearl Harbor, and with the U.S. having no clue about what was going to happen they had no time to warn people. The event led to over 2000 people and over 1000 being injured. THis was also what made America have to in yet another World War
  • Atom Bomb Dropped on Hiroshima

    Atom Bomb Dropped on Hiroshima
    On August 6th 1945 America dropped an atom bomb on the city of Hiroshima in Japan. The event took over 140,000 lives, but the U.S. still wasnt done. Three days later the U.S. dropped another atom bomb on the city of Nagaski. `This bombing took over 80,000 lives. This is also what lead Japan to surrender.
