  • Triple Alliance

    Triple  Alliance
    1882 is the year that the Triple Alliance formed. The countries involved Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy and the Ottoman Empire (Turkey.) Germany and Austria-Hungary were already allied (1879.) Italy later joined in after losing North American ambitions to France. So Italy joined a treaty to assist Germany and Austria-Hungary if attacked by France.

    1907 was the yar that the Alliance Entente. The countires involved are The British Empire, France and Russia. America also joined the alliance during the fight. The British Empire and Russia were already allied to calm down conflict between the colonies. France later joined in and then later became a military alliance, also a threat to the Triple Alliance.
  • The Battle of Tannenberg

    The Battle of Tannenberg
    This battle was between the Russian (The Russian Second Army) and German Empires (The German Eighth Army), it was held on the 26th of August and ended on the 30th of August 1914. The German troops ended up winning the fight, demolishing not only the Russian Second Army but their commander Alexander Samsonov. The name of the battle reflects in the Middle Ages when Germany lost a fight and decided to name it in this battle to show the return of Germany's potential.

Germany also wanted Turkey on their side and not to join the opposition for advantage reasons.

    The conscription was held on the 26th of October 1916 and it was held again in December. A conscription is when men are being forced into the militray or army. It was made for men aged from the years 18-60 and it was also compulsory since the year 1911.

It was said the Germans shot down a merchant ship which sunk. This was a shock to America so they pressured their government into war. The president (Mr WIlson) initally made a campaign for peace but that was a failure. The Germans continued with announcing any ship that approached Britain would get shot down this was obviously exceptable, war was declared.

    This battle took place in Ypes Salient, Belgium. This was an area of the Western Front and held place in the German town Passchendaele. This battle continued from the 26th of October to the 10th of November 1917.
  • Lundendorff Offensive

    Lunderdorff is named after the man General Erich Lunderdorff who was the general abd won the battle of Liege and the Battle of Tannenberg. Erich anticipated the beggining of Germany's great bet for control over the Western Front on the first day of spring (21st of March.)

    This battle was held in the town of Northern France, Le Hamel. This battle was launched by the Australian Corps (AIF.) The American groups were facing against Germany.

    The Battle of Amiens
    There are several names for this battle: Third Battle of Picardy, Black Day for the German Army, The Battle of the Americans and The Battle of Amiens. This battle was dedicated to the German general; General Erich Lundendorff. The battle began on the 8th of August and ended on the 12th 1918 which means it pointed to the end of WW1. This battle was also one of the first including armoured warefare, also is best known for its moral and number of German surrounding forces.

    This event is also known as the Armistice of Compiegne. This is the agreement that ended the horrible World War 1, it was signed by Germany at 2:30am, on the 11th of November 1918.

    This took place in Paris. There were 5 peace treaties made, along with the defeated enemies; also the Treaty of Versailles was made for Germany. There was also a important decision made on this day which is the League of Nations.
    Peace is declared through all countries involved in WW1.
