    Trench Warfare
    The trenches were used as a way to be protected from small arms fire and some forms of artillery while fighting the war. One of the largest locations of trench warfare was the Western Front. No man's land- The ground that separated the trenches from the opposing sides of the war.
  • Sinking of Lusitania

    Sinking of Lusitania
    -German submarines torpedoed the Lusitania while it was head to Liverpool England from New York. An approximate 1,100 people died and from that about 120 Americans. This aided in turning public opinion in America against Germany and contributed to us joining the war.
  • Zimmermann Note

    Zimmermann Note
    A telegraph to Mexico from Germany was intercepted by the British. The telegraph was requesting that if America was to join the war with the Allies then if Mexico were to attack they would be given support and American land from Germany. This message along with German submarines attacking U.S. ships contributed to turning the favor of the government to war.

    This disease isthe current most deadly pandemic in history. It killed off an estimated 20-50 million people (1/3 world population). It was most effective because we had no vaccine for the disease and people ages 20-40 were most affected.

    A statement of world peace principles by president Woodrow Wilson. These statements were to be used to end WW1. League of Nations- An international organization to supply a forum for resolving international disputes.

    Espionage and Sedation Act
    Who it Targeted- Those who interfered with foreign relations and foreign commerce of the U.S. Violation- It violated the first amendment by limiting the freedom of speech. People like cartoonists would be punished with jail for political cartoons. Schenck v. US Court Case- This ruled that the act did not violate the first amendment of those convicted.

    The peace treaty that was used to end WW1. In the treaty Germany had to pay reparations, its boundaries were reassigned, they lost their colonies, and armed forces.

    19th Amendment- Guarantee's the right for all American women to vote. Women and The War- During the war most of the men were overseas fighting s back in America, factories were hiring women to work.
