    Zimmerman Note or Zimmerman Telegram was a secret diplomatic communication issued from the German that proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico in a war against the US and that Mexico could regain land lost during the Mexican-American War.

    The Fourteen Points was a statement of principles for peace that was to be used for peace negotiations in order to end World War I. The principles were outlined in a January 8, 1918 speech on war aims and peace terms to the United States Congress by President Woodrow Wilson. League of Nations was an international organization to prevent war. US never joined and it no longer exists.

    Spanish Flu affected 1/4th of the population and killed around 500,000 Americans. 30 million world wide.The 1918 flu was first observed in Europe, the U.S. and parts of Asia before spreading around the world. Surprisingly, many flu victims were young, otherwise healthy adults. At the time, there were no effective drugs or vaccines to treat this killer flu strain or prevent its spread. In the U.S., citizens were ordered to wear masks, and schools, theaters and other public places were shuttered.

    Espionage and Sedition Act
    The Espionage and Sedition Acts made it a crime to interfere with the operations of the military and prohibited many forms of speech perceived as disloyal to the United States of America. This was against the 1st amendment of freedom of speech. Supreme Court concluded that defendants who distributed fliers to draft-age men, urging resistance to induction, could be convicted of an attempt to obstruct the draft, a criminal offense. This targeted large minority groups.

    written by the Allies with almost no participation by the Germans. The negotiations revealed a split between the French, who wanted to dismember Germany to make it impossible for it to renew war with France, and the British and Americans, who did not want to create pretexts for a new war. This humiliated Germany had to pay money. and give up land to the East.
