World War II started with Germany invading Poland. Britain and France threatened to start war if German troops didn't move out of Poland. Germany refused and World War II commenced. -

Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. Many of the ships were damaged and lives were lost. This brought the United States into the World War.
