  • Rommels Command of the Axis in North Africa

    Rommel veteran of WWI. Hitler put Rommel incharge of the Africa Corps. He was given the name desert fox by the british soldiers. Put in charge of the Atlantic wall defenses. Commanded army group b on D-Day. Rommel Commited Suicide to avoid punishment. it was important because his death gave the allies a better chance of winning the war

    Dwight Eisenhower publicly announces the surrender of Italy to the Allies. Germany reacted with Operation Axis, the reacted with Allies with Operation Avalanche.

    was an international conference at which the United Nations was formulated and negotiated among international leaders. this was important because first important step taken to carry out paragraph 4 of the Moscow Declaration of 1943, which recognized the need for a postwar international organization to succeed the League of Nations.

    was the American initiative to aid Europe and Asia, in which the United States gave $13 billion in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II. This was important because this was going to help the US econmy because it was going to provide more jobs.

    He was the supreme alloed commander and he lead to D-day also at one point was the most powerful man on the earth and lead the graetest invasion in history.
  • Post - War occupation of Japan

    Japan surrendered to the Allies on August 14, 1945, when the Japanese government notified the Allies that it had accepted the Potsdam Declaration. This is what lead to the occupation and it was important becuase they did not get independednent until 1972.
