    Germans were angry over their loss in World War I so Hitler became the leader of their new party called the Nazi party. The Nazis were extreme racists and believed that Germans were the master race, and were superior among all others. Hitler was the leader and had his own ideas on how the world should be run.

    This was important because Mussolini become allies with Hitler and Becomes a dangerous enemy of Britain and the United States.

    American and British troops crossed into Sicily and by the fall Mussolini the king of Italy was dismissed from office. Italy surrendered.

    155,000 American, British and Canadian troops landed on five beaches in Normandy. The forces quickly overcame the Germans. On Omaha beach Germans fought hard though. The Allies succeeded however 2,500 American were dead. The Allies took Paris again after four years of Germans occupying it.
