  • Joseph Stalin takes control

    Leader of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin dies and Joseph Stalin begins purging rivals to clearthe way for his leadership. Stalin killsmany Russians and becomes dictator of Russia and tries to modernize it. This event is signifigant because it allowed Stalin to take control and become dictator and he killed many people during his dictatorship and it would change the course of Russia's history and will never be forgotten.
  • The Dawes plan

    The dawes plan is accepted. It ends the allied occupation of the ruhr and sets a staggered payment plan for Germany's payment of war reperations.
  • Locarno Treaties

    The treaties are signed in London. The treaties settled border of Western Europe and normalize relations between Germany and the allied powers of Western Europe
  • Treaty of Berlin

    The treaty of Berlin is signed by Germany and the Soviet Union, which declares neutrality if either country is attacked within the next 5 years. This was signifigant because they weren't able to start another war anytime soon which gave people an oppertunity to rebuild and fix the disaster that had come with world war 1.

    The Kellog - Briand pact is signed in Paris by the major powers of the world. The treaty outlaws aggressive warfare. This was significant because people were scared that another war would breakout and this made them feel less scared .

    The young plan, which sets the total world war 1 reparations owned by Germany at US $ 26,350,000,000 to be paid over a period 58 years, is finalized. It replaces the Dawes plan.
  • The Great Depression

    The great depression begins with the wall street crash. The great depression was significant because it pushed the US. into a better economic system. There were laws set afterward to attempt to prevent something like that from happening again. it also produced a lot of good organizations through the work of FDR. the numerous amount of programs were known as his "alphabet soup." he knew that this time was hard on Americans and through some of his programs, he gave Americans their dignity back.

    The united kingdom, united states, France, Italy and japan sign the London naval treaty regulating submarine warfare and limiting naval shipbuilding. This was signifigant because if there are less enemy naval ships in the waters than there will be less civilian deaths.
