    German U-boat torpedoed and sank the Lusitania. They built this boat to go through the water at 25 knots.

    Zimmerman Note
    The Zimmerman Note allowed us into WWI, and proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico.
  • Espionage and Sedition Act

    Espionage and Sedition Act
    They banned many forms of speech, including any profane or abusive language about the form of government of the United States and the United States Flag. This act basically made it to where it is a crime for any person to give out or interfere with any government information. Even interfering with the U.S. armed forces or promoting the the success of the countries enemies.

    Spanish Flu was a deadly influenza pademic. Some people felt fine in the mornings, but they were dead by night. During this deadly disease 675,000 Americans died, 43,000 servicemen mobilized for WWI died, and overall 50 million people died. If they did not die from Spanish Flu they died from other sicknesses like pneumonia.

    During the 19th amendment all american women were allowed to vote. A large amount of women were recruited into jobs vacated by men who had gone to fight in the war. There were also new jobs that opened such as many factories.

    The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties that ended WWI. It also ended the war between Germany and the Allied Powers.
