    March 11, 2001. Around 8:30 pm, born at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. This event marks the start of the life that I live now.

    On September 11, 2001 two planes crashed into the World Trade Center taking nearly 3,000 lives. On that same tragic, day a plane crashed and hit the Pentagon, destroying the building and killing close to 200 people. This act of terrorism has been the worst the history of the U.S. has seen, but by helping each other overcome this loss, we have become stronger and more united than ever.

  • The Department of Homeland Securtiy

    The Department of Homeland Securtiy
    In response to the 911 attacks, President George W. Bush creates the department of homeland security. It will fight domestic terrorism, protect potential domestic targets, and soon become a central contact point for local and state agencies for issues on homeland security. This is also the largest reorganization in federal government since 1947.

    Iraq War of 2003
    Without the apporval of the U.N., the United States, the United Kingdom, and others went against the Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein. Suspicions were high and attacks were launched on March 20, 2003. President Bush declared many major combat operations in Iraq, increasing the number of deadly guerrilla attasks against U.S. troops. This war officially ended December 15, 2011.

    Sister is Born
    Brooklin Sienna Rios, my sister, is born making me the eldest sibling. Since is was about two when this happened I cannot fully express how she changed my life when she arrived, but she has definitely impacted my life now being a teenager. She makes me aware that everything I do influences her, making me more conscious of my decisions and how I have to approach life to set a good example for her to follow.

    Re-Election of President George W. Bush
    Held on November 2, 2004, Rebulican Party candidate George W. Bush ran against Democratic Party candidate John Kerry. President Bush would soon be narrowly reelected into office. During this term, Bush would face many issues like response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and dealing with a finical crisis starting in 2007.

    Hurricane Katrina
    After leaving New Orleans completely ruin, response to Hurricane Katrina by government was slow. Since the Bush administration was lacking a quick response in providing federal aid, the residents had no choice but to wait days for supplies and rescue efforts. This would receive a great amount of criticism on behalf of the administration.

    In 2006, democracts gain control and power of both chambers in congress. This happens because of a very strong decrease in Republican support. Concerns stemming from the Iraq war is one of the key reasons to this lack of support and influence.

    In 2007, Nancy Pelosi becomes the first female speaker in the House of Representatives. She represented the eighth Congressional District of California and during a time where the House of Representatives had been won by democracts in the midterm election of 2006. Her state then picked her to be the speaker, and of course putting her in the position in which no woman had held before.

    First Musical
    The first musical I took part in as a cast member was at CEG Performing Arts Summer Camp. I was about 6 or 7 and was the gatekeeper and a munchkin in The Wiz. This obviously wasn't what inspired me to act, however it opened the door and was start to what I've become today.

    This financial crisis occurred in 2007 into 2009 due to banks providing customers with subprime mortgage loans with very high interest rates.These loans came with an increase to housing market prices, but when the banks decreased the amount of loans, it caused a disastrous chain reaction.This leaves many companies filing for bankruptcy and many left unemployed.

    In 2008, Barack Obama is elected as president of the United States. He would soon help the nation recover from the Great Rescission and would begin the gradual process of bringing troops back home from Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to this, president Barack Obama became the first African America ever to be elected into U.S. presidency.

    The Tea Party was a movement that was in support of reducing the nations debut, reducing government spending, and believed that government entitlements should be lessened. However, after The Great Recession, the government was forced to keep spending. After the 2012 elections, The Tea Party lacked the republican support it once had, along with the influence it had gained in 2010.

    President Obama signs the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which will reform private health insurance markets. It also aimed to provide better coverage for patients who have pre-existing conditions. This act would also ensure affordable insurance for low-income buyers by applying subsides.

  • Oil Spill in the Gulf

    Oil Spill in the Gulf
    On April 20, a drilling rig explodes one mile beneath the Gulf of Mexico, causing nearly five million barrels of oil to spill out into the ocean. This will severely affect the shores of Louisiana, making U.S. government play a role in helping to recover from this disaster. Finally being capped after 86 days, the spill became the largest accidental oil spill in history.

    Mom is Married
    After having me and my sister, Brooklin, my mother finds and marries her husband and my stepdad, Calvin Seaton. This is what marks the significant change in my life, giving me a new home, a new school, a new life. Not only this, but over the years my stepfather became the dad I never had or got to know, so with a new way of life and family, I now had the support of a loving father.

    Ava Milan Seaton is born. She has greatly impacted my life, giving me a lot more responsibility compared to before with my sister, Brooklin, who was only two years younger. Now that I had a sister 10 years younger, I was able to care and watch over her, creating good examples like before, which I've been stuck doing ever since.

    Believed to have been the mastermind behind the most destructive acts of terrorism the United Sates has seen, Osama bin Laden, founder of the terrorist group Al Qaeda, is killed. In October 2001, the U.S., declared war on terrorism; launching an attack on Afghanistan.10 years later bin Laden is killed by U.S forces that had raided the compound where he hid located in Pakistan.

    In the summer of 2011, my family moved from the city of Philadelphia to Glenside. This move has changed my entire life, including my opportunities, goals, and mindset. It is clear that it is a significant and an important influence to my life here in the present, but it will continuing shaping my life in the future and the opportunities it holds.

    During the school year of 2011-12 I attended Copper Beech Elementary. Staying only for 5th and 6th grade, it was the first school I had attended within Abington School District and an opportunity to familiarize with, what was then, a new surrounding. Going to this school also gave me a chance to become accustomed to new styles of learning, compared to the methods back in Philly, before entering the more challenging, upper grade levels.

    In the election of 2012, Democratic Party candidate, President Obama, ran against Republican Party candidate, Mitt Romney. On November 6, 2012, Obama had been elected for a second term in office. During this term, Obama would face issues such as dealing with the issues of women's rights and foreign policy, while also helping to heal the nation from its previous wounds.

  • Brother is Born

    Brother is Born
    Ej is born, making him the youngest and only boy out of three girls. Just like his older sister, Ava, he is significantly younger than me,12 years younger. This age gap created allows me to provide care for him and manage him on my own when my mother cant. Being the eldest of siblings ranging in age, and living with a cousin who's age is right in the middle of the gap, is incredibly hard. It is the biggest challenge I have to deal with everyday, and everyday I have to learn how to overcome.

    In the summer of 2013-2014, Young Performers Theater Camp put on a production of the musical Grease. In that tiny little Prince Theater at The Annenburg, I had the amazing opportunity to be casted and perform as the female lead, Sandy. Ever since that point as a performer, I have grown and acquired many other lead roles in the shows that I participate in, gaining me the experiences and knowledge I have today.

    LGBT Rights
    The issues of marriage equality related to gay rights had been difficult, same-sex marriage was prohibited in most states. After June 26, 2015, the U.S Supreme Court made and important decision that would make history in LGBT Rights. The court ruled and legalized same-sex marriages in all fifty states.

  • Abington Junior and Senior High School

    Abington Junior and Senior High School
    Attending these schools not only has offered me many learning opportunities, but also many and countless opportunities within acting/singing. I'd been apart of choir in the junior high for three years, gaining me the experience and knowledge that has allowed me to be apart of the select choir today in the senior high. The same goes for acting and my education. These two schools have truly, and will continue, shape who I become.
