The word Renaissance means "rebirth" and this was fitting as the event took place after the Black Death and was rebirthing the need for discovery. Many artists and engineers came during the renaissance such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. The renaissance also brought new ideas, such as the social class you are in doesn't decided what your wealth is or shall be.

It was made to print his "The Gutenberg BIble," which was a 42 line book. The printing press was made in a little print shop in Mainz, Germany. Later used to print the bible to help convince people that buying they're way out of hell wasn't a thing

The Portugues man Vasco da Gama is the first European explorer to reach India across the Atlantic Ocean. Da Gama arrived in at Calicut on the Malabar Coast. He rounded the Cape of Good Hope and arrived in Malindi on the east coast of Africa

Leonardo da Vinci painted her for Francesco Del Giocondo, who was Lisa's husband. Mona Lisa isn't even her name, her real name is Lisa Gherardini. It is often speculated that da Vinci worked on her longer then 1506 but no real evidence exists.

While Christopher technically discovered it, it wasn't until Amerigo Vespucci rediscovered the "New world" that it became named. Which, was evidently named after Amerigo since he claimed it as new land unlike Columbus. The earliest use of the name America dates to 25/4/1507, where it was applied to what is now South America

At the age of 33, Michelangelo was asked to paint the Sistine Chapel roof, but refused at first, saying he wasn't a painter, he was a sculptor. Painting the Sistine Chapel was such a challenge for Michelangelo, that he wrote a poem about how miserable he was while painting it. The main panels, of which there are 9, depict the Book of Genesis stories starting at the creation all the way to Noah.

Magellan leaves from Spain with five ships, looking for fame. The first man to circumnavigate the world, even though he dies on the trip. 18 survivors out of the 270 and Megellan wasn't one of them.

Originally went for peace, but when he got the Emperor alone in a room, he took him hostage and controlled the Inca's. They eventually found out and became furious, raging wars against them for ruling them without their permission. Ends with Pizarro winning because of stronger armor and better weapons.

A group of roughly 100 members of a venture, the Virginia Company, founded the first English settlement in North America, Jamestown. Famine, disease and conflict with Native Americans brought Jamestown to the brink of failure before the arrival of supplies in 1610. During the 1620s, Jamestown expanded into a New Town built to the east.

The first voyage of Christopher Columbus takes off for Asia. Only Columbus doesn't discover a new route to Asia like he planned. Instead, he found America and mistook it for somewhere else, then went back home, thinking his journey was complete.
