After that he went back to america and during World War 1 European refugees were forced here and he met his best friend Ezra Pound who too, was a poet, and they both worked together and inspired each other -

Williams was going through a series of strokes after his first heart attack and his health declined for the rest of his life.Plus he had depression. -
