Erikson's Timeliine

  • The Dying West

September 11, 1900, Lawrence (10) is trying to decide whether to follow in his father's footsteps as a cowboy running a farm, or keep pursuing his academics as his mother instructs. He ponders on the possibilities the future holds and the radical changes he's witnessing before his eyes. From automobiles to rumors of a flying contraption. In Erikson’s fourth stage of industry vs inferiority, Lawrence is discovering personal interests. Wanting to prove to himself and his family.
  • Lifestyle

Lawrence (23) has decided to reject any possibilities of finding love. Instead, Lawrence has decided a life of crime would best suit his needs, and bringing any loved ones into that life would be too dangerous for them. Therefore, Lawrence has chosen isolation over intimacy. Erikson's sixth stage of intimacy vs isolation, the decision to connect with another emotionally (intimacy), or decide to run solo and reject any possibilities of a committed relationship.
  • In Full Circle

Lawrence has survived and escaped to Mexico to live out the rest of his life. He spends his days as a gunsmith, customizing weapons for anyone who visits his shop. He also met an orphan girl who he took under his wing. He teachers her weapons handling as well as safe cracking. In Erikson's seventh stage of generativity vs stagnation, one gets comfortable and spends their time creatively. One also guides the next generation in order to contribute to their fellow man and to society.
