    Before designing a new Olympic mascot, it's important to research the current London 2012 mascors, as well as look at designs for the past Summer Olympics. I also looked on Twitter, Facebook and various blogs to see what people had to say about their likes, dislikes, and comments on Wenlock and Mandeville.

    Create mascot with qualities that were seen as favorable for past mascots, as well as add qualities that are improvements to the current mascots.

    Experiment with colors, slogans, look & feel. Determine what kind of personality the mascot will exude and how to target specific audiences that will be most receptive to the brand.
  • Create Social Media Accounts

    Create Social Media Accounts
    Cohesive social media accounts for Winston are created (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr). They are all branded with Winston's images, bright colors, and phrases used throughout the campaign (#WeWantWinston). The main focuses of these accounts are to:
    (1) Raise awareness of Winston's precence and promote related images and hashtags
    (2) Provide relevant Olympic pictures and information
  • Interact with Users, Share Content

    Interact with Users, Share Content
    Social media accounts will be used to interact with other Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr users, sharing both Winston original content and spreading the content of other social network users. Winston's accounts will be promoted as a hub for interaction, rather than a one-way communication platform.
  • Track Media, Keywords

    Track Media, Keywords
    The campaign will need ways to see if Winston is making any sort of impact, and if the hashtags associated with the campaign will pick up any. Services such as bitly, PeopleBrowsr, FollerMe and Twitter Map. This allows the campaign to tell which demographics are interacting with Winston, as well as the increase or decrease of influence Winston may hold online.
  • Build Following Based on Findings

    Build Following Based on Findings
    By continuously using the data received from various social media analytics, #WeWantWinston will be able to evolve and adapt to how the audience reacts and play on these interactions. The goal will be to increase followers, promote winston-related content, and grow the #WeWantWinston hashtag.
