    The first ten amendments went into effect and is now part of our Constitution. It was created in 1789 by James Madison. The congress approved twelve articles.

    The Louisiana Purchase treaty was signed. It was a deal between the U.S and France. All of Louisiana costed $15 million dollars which was very cheap but the U.S could still not afford it.

    The Lewis & Clark started their expedition.They started on land at St. Louis, Missouri. It was the first expedition to cross the western U.S.

    Lewis and Clark ended their journey. They travelled by river and land. They went from St. Louis to the Oregon Coast.

    At the time Andrew Jackson was the president. The president had to negotiate with the Indian tribes in the southern U.S states. The Indians had to move out of the territory west of the Mississippi River in exchange for their ancestral homelands.

    The Indians had to walk thousands of miles and leave their homelands. They had to walk to an Indian territory across the Mississippi River. It was a very sad and devistating journey for them.
  • Florida Became a U.S. State

    Florida Became a U.S. State
    The congress agreed that Florida should become a state and the bill was signed. Florida was the 27th state and was supposably a slave state. A spanish explorer owned the state before America did.
  • Mexican-American War 1846-1848

    A dispute over the now U.S state of Texas. The U.S ended up victorious in the ending. The land was originally Mexico's.

    In Utah a Californian Governor pounds in the last spike that completes the Transcontinental Railroad. For the first time in America ever a railroad connects east and west. This has been a dream of Americas for a very long time.
