Liberalism is a fight for freedom that many would take along the years, and well it's hard to pinpoint who did it first, the dutch are a good place to start. The Dutch had been fighting a long war against the Spanish for freedom for taxes and the right to home rule. And well another monarch would take over, the dutch experienced an economic and scientific boom that would enrich their people for years to come.

The Seven Years War was a pushing factor for many nations taking on a more democratic system, due to how economically devastating the war was. (Side Fact: The Only continent no battle took place during the seven years war was in Oeaciana or Australia)

France had been Europe's greatest superpower for hundreds of years ever since the Franks united into the modern frank kingdom that would become France. But ever since the seven years war France had been on the back foot. They lost money in the booth Seven years war and helping the Americans and during a 20-year bad harvest.
Even worse was that France's monarch Louis XVI was terrible at managing the economy and had spent even more money on partying.
The French people wouldn't stand by. -
Thanks to the cost of the Seven Years War, the British placed a large amount of taxes upon the colonist of the thirteen colonies. Along with the British removal of one of the colonies' charters, and growing anger over the colonist having no ministers in parliament, the colonists started arming themselves.

Thomas Paine wrote the book common sense during the American Indenpance war, Common sense convinced a lot of Americans that were still loyal to the British that they should break off from the Crown and forum a Republic that could consider the rights of all Men and give more of an equal future for all of it people.

After some thinking, Jefferson Davis was picked of all the Americans at the continental congress to write the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. It stated that and I quote "All men are created equal... with certain unalienable Rights... among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"
(History Fact: Jefferson Davis actually wrote a condemnation of slavery in the Declaration, but out of fear of losing southern support he removes it. George Washington supported this action) -
The United States decided on Sept. 9th, 1787 to ratify the constitution, the highest document in terms of the law in the United States of America. And I quote "The Bill of Rights guarantees individuals certain basic protections as citizens, including freedom of speech, religion and the press; the right to bear and keep arms; the right to peaceably assemble; protection from unreasonable search and seizure; and the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury."

States including Massachusetts opposed the Constitution because it originally didn't allow for freedom of speech, so if you ever say anything bad about the Prime Minister or a politician you have to thank Massachusetts for that.

The French Revolution against the Monarchy and the lack of basic living standards are what let the french bloody overthrow their king.
(Culture Today: a Stereotype for french people is that they are explosive characters who act too much on their emotions.) -
The First French Republic was the groundwork for the other four but was also the worst of the french republic (In my opinion) due to the number of people who died.
Some of the American founding fathers came to France to write a constitution which ended up being very similar to the American one and actually went farther than the American one. -
In 1804 Napoleon overthrew the French government and made himself the rightful Emperor of France. During which he conquered most of the main land of Europe and improved the rights of people living in his empire.
(Side Note: Wellbeing called Emperor, Napolean was actually a very liberal man and as long as you didn't raise arms against him, you could say what you want)

In the Middle of the British One Hundred year point where the United Kingdom was the sole greatest superpower in the world (Also Known as Pax Britannica) Canada really didn't feel the effects of it.
And so more and more Canadians continued to believe in the great fear that Canada would end up getting annexed by the USA.
So Canadian Governer General working the request of the British to reform Canada and got the Parliament together.
(Side Note: These same fears are shared by Canadians today) -
On July 1, 1867, the Colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada which would become Ontario and Quebec came together to become the Canadian Confederation.
Under Which John A. Macdonald would become its first prime minister.
