    John Fitzgerald Kennedy Timeline

  • John & Jacqueline : Intimacy vs. Isolation

John & Jacqueline : Intimacy vs. Isolation
This was going to be one of the most important times of John's life. On this day, he vowed to marry his best friend, Jacqueline. This would be one of the most memorable weddings in history. They decided to devote their lives to each other through the process of intimacy and isolation. In Erikson’s fifth stage, intimacy versus isolation, the crisis is between the decision to commit to another person compared to remaining to yourself throughout the course of your life.
  • Election Day : Generativity vs. Stagnation

Election Day : Generativity vs. Stagnation
Election Day was an extremely important day for Mr. Kennedy. It was another day in history that many will never forget. Some would say he was the most influential and inspiring president to ever serve. Due to this, I believe his reasoning for wanting to become president is due to Erikson's 7th stage of Development. In this stage, we compare generativity versus stagnation. Kennedy would've been influenced by generativity to influence future generations.
  • Kennedy's Assassination : Ego Integrity vs. Despair

Kennedy's Assassination : Ego Integrity vs. Despair
In Erikson's 8th stage of development, we look at Ego Integrity vs. Despair. When anyone thinks of a presidential assassination, we automatically think of JFK first. No one was expecting this event to ever occur, and it was the most heartbreaking. Even though this was an unfortunate event, I believe Kennedy would have lived through ego integrity. If I could ask him, I think he would say that he lived his best life, and is fulfilled with his accomplishments.
