Committing Suicide
At the age of 15, Tunchai Redvers attempted to commit suicide by taking numerous pills because she was tired of being discriminated for her race/culture. Tunchai was proud of her identity, however, it was hard for her to keep it as people would constantly bully her for who she is. -

At the age of 12 in 2006 Tunchai Redvers was having suicidal thoughts and she suffered from bullying because of her Indigenous identity. -
Launch of We Matter Campaign
In 2017, Tunchai Redvers (age 22) and her brother, Kelvin Redvers, launched a campaign called We Matter. Tunchai wanted to start this campaign because she doesn't want Indigenous youth to feel underestimated about themselves and she wants them to share their past experiences so that she can help Indigenous youth feel better. -
What Is the We Matter Campaign?
The we matter campaign is trying to prevent Indigenous suicide by getting individuals to share a message to the campaign to support youth affected by this issue. They also want to help them feel like they are a part of society and that indigenous youth aren't alone. Furthermore, individuals could also donate money to reach out to more youth and they can share their stories so everyone knows about the issue of suicide. -

At the age of 23, Tunchai had been named MTV and WE Day’s Top 10 Drivers of Change. She has also published many writing pieces and is the co-founder of we matter. Kelvin Redvers was hired by the CTV first story. -
Different Ways to help
The We Matter campaign could create Youtube ads which are 15 seconds long about this issue. This will inform the audience because many people use youtube and the ad will get straight through the message -
Another way to help
The We Matter campaign can also create a bookmark which is printable off their cite because the bookmark will have information about the issue. This will raise awareness because it will inform people bout the issue and it will lead people to take action once they know how serious the issue actually is. -
App (Different way to help)
Another different way to help is to have an app which allows people to give donations and learn more information about what they do and how they help. -
Brochures
Another different way to help is hand out brochures in local grocery stores because this will lead to people knowing facts about suicide and it will lead to action. Brochures are like newspapers.
