    Five burglars with political connections meet outside the Watergate complex with a plan to the democratic national committee headquarters on the sixth floor to ensure Nixon wins the election
  • Fix the bug- caught

    Gather at the hotel again. There is something wrong with one of the phones they tapped into. This is the night they will fix the issue. The men all know their jobs and will keep each other posted on this night. They hope to break into the DNC headquarters again while Baldwin keeps watch across the street. This is the night they are caught. The security guard reported the tape they held the door open with and in the end it got them caught.

    Ben Bradlee puts the scandal on the front page on the Washington post the night after it happened. This news did not get much attention- so they gave the story to a young reporter. Little did they know this story would turn out to make her famous.
  • Linking them all together

    The Washington Post creates a full page dedicated to the scandal and reports that someone from the White House is connected to the story. This is just 5 months before the election now. One of Nixon's closest staff members is publicly linked to the scandal and isn't looking good for the President.
  • The Tape

    Proof that Nixon was involved and knew about the whole thing. Nixon speaks about the scandal 6 days after it happened.
  • Baldwin-FBI

    Baldwin-the lookout approaches the FBI. He reveals that after the burglary he contacted members from the re-election committee for guidance. He tells them about two of the head people leading the scandal and agreed to testify- yet he is never charged.
  • Election day

    President Nixon carries out 49 states in the largest landslide in American history.
  • Court day

    The 5 burglars and the men behind the stunt appear in federal court. Hunt pleads guilty to 6 charges. The following week 4 of the 5 men also plead guilty. James McCord will not plead guilty.
  • G-Bye Nixon

    Nixon announces that he will resign his position as President after the scandal claiming that America needed to heal.
