The Big Move
On October 1, 1910 the Disney's moved to Kansas City to live on a farm. While in Kansas, Walt went to Benton Grammar School, where he met the Pfeiffers, who then introduced Walt to the world of motion pictures. -

In 1923, Walt moved to Hollywood, California to become a director. Instead Walt and Roy Disney signed a contract with M.J Winker, a cartoon distributer. -

In 1930, Walt and MGM head, Loius Mayor, met at MGM Studios to talk to Disney about signing for his films. Mayor agreed but changed his mind when Pat threatens to sue anyone who interfered with his exclusive contract of the right to Disney's films. -
Now Showing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!
On December 21, 1937 Disney's first full-length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, premires at the Carthy Circle Theatre in Hollywood, California. The 1.5 million needed to complete the movie nearly bankrupted the company. Two-million drawings make up the 83 minute film. -

In 1945, Walt Disney resigns as president of Walt Disney Studios. He made Roy Disney, Walt's brother, the new president. He also later announced that there will be a planned layoff of over 400 of the 1000 workers. -

On July 17, 1955, Walt Disney opened Disneyland in Anaheim California. 15,000 guests were invited, but attendence for the day was recorded as 28,154. Disneyland opened to the public the next day. -
