The WAH Foundation was established in 2008 by Christopher Wilson. He has been living in Singapore since 1990 and later decided to start this foundation. http://www.portfoliomagsg.com/article/whats-in-my-portfolio-christopher-wilson.html
  • Main Goal

    Main Goal
Seeing how many schools and children don't get water inspired Wilson to start this foundation. Their main goal is to provide clean water and healthcare to rural communities. So they started to implement training programs and unique inventions to provide these places with a more clean and safe way of living. https://www.wahglobal.org/
  • Bicycle System

    Bicycle System
In 2009 Christopher invented the bicycle system. They took an old bicycle, put a pump on it, and connected it to the well so that clean water could be pumped up through the well all from just cycling. The water would come up, be filtered through their filtering system and the kids would have clean, safe water.
  • Happy Hands

    Happy Hands
Wilson later realized that there was anther problem, other than water, that left kids sick with weak immune systems which was hand washing. So he started the Happy Hands campaign which allowed him to build hand washing basins which were close to the water systems.
  • Dental Hygiene

    Dental Hygiene
They now had clean water to drink and clean their hands with, but the next step was to help the children with their dental hygiene. They then integrated dental hygiene programs into schools. The foundation now established clean water, hand washing system, and dental hygiene. With the help of Unilever, WAH has distributed thousands of bars of soap, and tubes of toothpaste to schools all around Kampong Chhnang.
  • Educating

    Educating
WAH is very big on how they approach rural communities, they enter as a potential partner. It is very important to explain the benefits of clean water, good hygiene, and good sanitation is to their community, also teach them how to maintain these systems. It helps a lot that the 16 members of the foundation are from the rural areas so they will provide greater results because they have empathy.
  • Midwife Training Program

    Midwife Training Program
They noticed that the morality rate for women during childbirth was extremely high. So the foundation approached the woman's and children's hospital and started talking to them about the idea of starting a training program. This program would train midwives with simple methods which would cut down the mortality rate. Over 200 midwives were trained and the program cut down the morality rate for women in birth down 70%.
  • Pediratric Training

    Pediratric Training
In addition to the midwives training, they noticed that a lot of kids were dying of dehydration and respiratory problems they decided to implement a pediatric training program. It will be a two year course and they will train up to 200 doctors in simple emergency methods that will keep children alive. https://hvousa.org/ourwork/programs/pediatrics/
  • Carli Bybel

    Carli Bybel
Carli Bybel is a beauty guru on YouTube and joined forces with the WAH foundation to raise money and awareness. She created her own website that sold bracelets and 100% of the proceeds went back to the foundation with hope to raise 100,000 dollars for a scholarship to send women to college in Cambodia. https://pranavabeauty.com/
  • The Scholarship

    The Scholarship
With the help of Carli Bybel the WAH foundation was able to raise over 100,000 dollars in order to send women to college in Cambodia. The money will provide them with room/board, tuiton, and books. This scholarship will continue to grow and produce not only money but awareness to the program and the conditions that people are living in, in hopes to inspire and motivate people to donate and get involved.
