    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian war was a conflict between Britain and New France to see which country would become the superpower in North America. This is important to US History because it was the catalyst for the revolution that eventually led to America becoming independent.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian War. Britain acquired Canada and all French possessions east of the Mississippi. This is important to US History because this is how Britain was able to set up more colonies in North America.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Colonist dresses up as Indians snuck onto some ships in the Boston harbor to dumb more than 300 crates of tea in the water to protest the British Tea Tax. This is important to US History because it fueled the already established tension between Britain and America that would later lead to the American Revolution.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress was a meeting between 12 of the 13 British colonies to discuss how they were going to address the taxes that the king was imposing. This was important to us history because all the colonies (except Georgia) would come together as one to protest against the taxes.

    Otherwise known as The Shot Heard Round The World, The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. This was important to U.S History because it was the first War the Americans won as a unified army and pushed back the British.

    The American Revolution was a war fought between the 13 Colonies and Great Britain as a result of the taxes the King of Britain imposed onto the colonists. This is important to US history because we gained independence from wining the war.
  • Continental Congress signs the Declaration of Independence

    Continental Congress signs the Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence was signed by the Continental Congress on August 2nd. It was a document that contained grievances that the colonists had with the British King and declared that The United States of America is an independent nation. <-------Importance
  • Saratoga

    Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the American Revolution. About 6,000 British soldiers surrendered and British general John Burgoyne lost 86 % of his expeditionary troops that had been in New York in the summer of 1777. Saratoga is important because it gave the French confidence in the Americans which ultimately led to them joining the war as an American ally.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    The Siege of Yorktown was considered the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War. The Continental Army led by George Washington won a decisive victory. General Cornwallis of the British Army surrendered, ending the fighting. This is important to us history because this battle ending the fighting between the two counties with the Americans as the victors.

    Representatives of both King Henry III and the United States of America signed the Treaty of Paris which officially ended the War. This is important to US History because the treaty set US boundaries and the British acknowledged the US as independent.

    The Continental Congress wrote the US Constitution during the Philadelphia Convention. The document established the basic structure of the government. This is important because the Constitution gave power to the people and allowed them to elect their own representatives.

    The Industrial Revolution was a time where production moved from household to factories. During this time there where many inventions and impacts to daily life in both America and Britain. Its important because industrialization changed the economy, production, transportation, etc.
  • Civil War Begins

    Civil War Begins
    Fort Sumter was bombarded by the Confederate States. The United States Army returned fire and lost the battle starting the Civil War. This is important because it was the bloodiest war in history and it would be the war to keep or end slavery.
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    Emancipation Proclamation
    The Emaciation Proclamation was an executive order issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1st 1863 that freed all slaves. Its important because all slaves would be freed from their owners and spark many problems in the south.
  • Civil War Ends

    Civil War Ends
    The Civil War came to an end at the Appomattox Courthouse when Robert E Lee surrendered the last of the Confederate Army to Ulysses S Grant. This is important to the history of the United Sates of America because it was at this moment that the United States Army had won and beginning the process to officially ending the war.
