  • Abraham Lincoln

    Abraham Lincoln
    Abhraham helped build the Rebublic Party into a strong national organization. He issued the Emancipation Proclomation which declared foreber freedome of those slaves within the confederacy. During his presidency, we won the Civil War.
  • Andrew Johnson

    Andrew Johnson
    Andrew Johnson passed Black Codes to deprive the freedom of Civil Liberties. Johnson opposed the 14th admendment, which gave African American males citizenship. After trying to dismiss the secretary of War, Johnson was impreached.
  • Ulysses S. Grant

    Ulysses S. Grant
    Grant established the first United States Civil Service Commission. During his 2nd term the Panic of 1883 broke out. Eventually Ulysses's presidential reputation was severly damaged by repreated scandals and frauds.
  • Rutherford Birchard Hayes

    Rutherford Birchard Hayes
    Rutherford oversaw the end of the Reconsitition. He helped resotre the broken trust in the government. Also, Hayes began the efforts that led to the Civil Service reform.

    James helped energize the U.S, Naval Power. He appointed several African Americans to prominant federal positions. Garfield made noteable diplomatic and judiciany appointments, including a US Supreme Cout Justice.

    Chester Alan Arthur
    Authur signed the Pendleton Act into law and enforced its provisions vigorously. He also signed the Tariff Act of 1883. His administation enacted the first General Federal Immigration law.

    Grover Cleveland
    Gover Cleveland rigned an Act which created the Interstate Commerce Commision. He angered mant railroad investers by ordering an investigation of western lands they held by goverment grant. Cleveland also passed a Bill in 1886 that would require the government to coin unlimited amounts of silver.

    Harrison passed the Sherman Antitrust Act. He also passed the dependent and disability Pension Act. Benjamin removed the tarrif from imported raw sugar and sugar growers in the united states.

    In Civil service administration, Mckinley reformed the system to help make it more flexible in critical areas. He also signed annexing the Rebulic of Hawaii to the United States. William eas president during the Spanish- American War.
  • Theodore Roosevelt

    Theodore Roosevelt
    Roosevelt began the construction of the Panama Canal. He also helped negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese War. While in office, Roosevelt became a "trust buster" by forcing the great railroad combination in the Northwest to break apart.
