Sand Creek Massacure
Sand creek was a village of about 800. Black Ketttle A local cheif had aproched the American Fort in hiopes to find protection for his people. And on Nov 28 1864 he was assured his people would not be disturbed at sand creek the next day the deal was shown to go south. On Nov 29 1864 a group known as the Colorado Volunteers sourounded Sand creek with orders to kill scalp everyone including woman and children. About 400 people were killed that day mostly woman and children. -

Imigration
Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882 this made the japense and chines the only two asian groups where the only two groups that were completly shut out of America. During the year 1917 the Goverment made it so Immigrants had to pass a Litercy test and by 1924 the goverment shut down millions of imigrants by stoping certain ethnicity. -
American Federation Of Labor
This was A loose group of smaller craft Unions. The A.F of L smaller unions were ones such as Masonry. This ment that every worker in The A.F of L was a skilled worker. Gompers worked as the president of the A.F of L for every year except for One. He knew that by keeping the skilled tradesmen away from the other unions they would make more money. He died in 1924. The A.F of L was used as the preeminent national labor organization untill the time of the great depression. -
The Sinking of the U.S.S Maine
Dupuy de Lôme was the Spanish Minister to the United states. He wrote a letter to a personal freind about President McKinly and was sent bac k to Spain when the letter was found and publisghed the Spanish Immediatly apoligized. The peace did not stay long on the night of Febuary 15th an unexpected explosion took place blowing a hole in the hual of the ship sinking it this killed 260 saillers. The American people automaticly assumed it was Spain and wanted to declare war, -
The Automobile
Henry Ford created this way of transpertation in the twentyth century. He not only paid well 5 dollars a day when most were getting two but he used smart slogans like the public could choose whatever color car they wanted — so long as it was black the first automobile went for 490$ new and with his employes high pay rate he was in hopes that his workers would buy them selfes a car and by 1920 there was over 8million reestrations. -
Germany anouces a policy
The policy that Germany set was for unrestricted submarin war fair. Imideatly America responded by cuting off dipmlimstic relationships with Germany. Later on that month the British got a hold of a telegram known as the notorious Zimmermann telegram it was from Germany and was asking for Mexicos help if the U.S was to enter the war in return for f Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. -

In March the Germans sank several American vessels this just made Wilson's point to delcare even stronger. Four days later congress decided that we were to enter the war now admiting America into one of the most bloodiest wars in history. -
Great Depression
Wealthy people started buying stocks like crazy this day was know as black Thursday. Over the next veiw weeks the stocks started to get less and less valuable eventually sending these holders into a panic. In just ten weeks what the market was valued at was cut in half. When this crash happend very veiw people thought it was going to be the start of a ten year depression. -
Japan attack on midway island
After Perl Harbor Japan wanted to attack Hawii again so they decided to try to use Misway Island as a base but America was still able to decipher codes from the Japenese and in an air battle they were able to stop japan and save the island from becoming a part of the Japenese. -
Firt try Atomic Bomb
At the Bomb Site near Alamogordo, New Mexico scientist of Manhaten started getting ready for the bomb being set off but no one was nearly prepeared for what happened. it made a blinding flashing light up to 200 miles and blew out peoples windows up to 100 miles away imediatly a made up story came out on what happend. -
Martin Luther King
In 1963 King organized a protest in Birmingham, Alabama this was known as one of the most thoroughly segregated places yuou could be in the United States. So sit ins and marches started untill the time Bull Connor a police commander set dogs and fire hoses on the protesters. This was shown on tv and brought many people to feel bad and or support the caus. -
Womans rights
In 1963 Betty Friedan published a book called The Feminine Mystique that focused on changing the womans role in socity now. Within three years th e National Organization for Women focused on getting equal pay for equal work -
James Meredith
James Meredith was kil;led by gun shot in an ambuysh on his march from Tenesse to Mississippi. People did not think his death should be for nothing so they started his walk again in order to finish it in his honor. Soon on the walk they realized nothing changed and they were still harrassed and insulted by the town's people. All while the police just turned away and did nothing to help them. -
American Indian Movement
In 1963 the American Indian Movement or AIM seized Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay and made an offer to the goverment in equal amounts of trinkets that Peter Minuit paid to the inhabitants of Manhattan Island . The final leg of the war was when the AIM gainedcontroll of Wounded Knee in South Dakota. After a 71 day holdout, the siege collapsed. -
Internet
When the internet first came out it was developed mainly for the goverment and the military. It was created by the depertment of defense so in case if there was an attack we would be able to operate another computer from a diffrent terminal. But in the beging the internet was mainly scientists comunicating. The internet finaly became public in 1984. -

In october 1983 a group of marines were bombed and killed by what was know as an act of terorism. Governments such as Syria, Libya, and Iran were suspected to training terrorist groups on their own soil. Regan promised if any one was linked to training terrerists there would be consiquences and after the CIA linked the bombing of a West Berlin to libya he sprung into action bombing libya including the rulers home. -
soviet union crashes
in 1991 the Soviet union crashed this left America being the only super military left so the world turned to them for combating aggression in the Persian Gulf, ending ethnic cleansing in places such as Kosovo, and halting nuclear proliferation. The U.S came out with the North American Free Trade Agreement ended economic barriers with Canada and Mexico and promised even more prosperity. -
Rampage in Los Angeles
in April a five day riot broke out it was a rampage of burning that took the lives of more than fifty people and did damages over one billion dollars. This riot was caused becuase of the officers who in 1991 beat Rodney King during his arrest and with a hidden camera showed the officers beating him on the ground with there night sticks repetily than a jurry saying the cops were not guilty.
