  • Berlin Airlift

    Berlin Airlift
    During the Berlin Airlift, the Soviets put up a big wall surrounding all of East Germany. We didn't want people to starve, so we sent hundreds of ships each day, for a year, to Berlin to supply their people with food and water. Soon later, we've stopped and kind of realized that he was not going to put down the barrier. Later on the Soviets tore down the wall.
  • Korean War

    Korean War
    Korea was split in North(comm.) and South(demo.), which is actually divided at the 38th parallel. North invades South in takeover bid. Soon, the U.S finds out about it and takes the side of the South. This war was more bloodier than Vietnam. Til this day, Korea is still divided into two. Now, the Truman Doctrine is put to the test.
  • Emmett Till Murder

    Emmett Till Murder
    Emmett Till was a 14 year old from Chicago visiting family in Mississippi. He was illegally flirting to a white lady in the store. He didn't know better, but as soon as her husband found out, his words came back to haunt him. Emmett Till was killed by 2 white men and were found innocent minutes after trial. This has started to begin the most famous act "The Civil RIghts Movement".
  • Little Rock's Central High Integrated

    Little Rock's Central High Integrated
    The first school to get integrated in Little Rock, Arkansas was Central High School. There were nine black students going to that school, which needed troops and policemen to help them be escorted to class safely. Riots and protests kept going on trying to stop them from getting into the school. After the graduation, the govenor officially shut down the school.
  • Kennedy elected President

    Kennedy elected President
    Kennedy came from a very wealthy family. He was also the Senator of Mass. Kennedy was the youngest president in office and the last to be killed in office. Kennedy(demo.) and Nixon(republ.) were the first debate aired on television. Everyone favored Kennedy, because he was good-looking and he looked invincible compared to Nixon.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    The US finds that the Soviet has been shipping nuclear warheads to Cuba. JFK has to think carefully about the situation. So, he chooses a blackade, which would stop the Soviets from coming in. The plan works! We continue to spy on the Soviets. Russia shots one of our plans down with a missile. Tension grows: Kennedy and Russia makes agreements to remove missiles from Cuba and we'll do the same to remove missiles from Turkey and a promise to never invade Cuba.
  • Kennedy Assassinated

    Kennedy Assassinated
    Kennedy visits Dallas, TX to win support since re-elections were about to begin next year. He knew that there would be possib;e violence, but he didn't care. He wanted to react with everyone. Minutes later Kennedy get shot twice in the head and neck while Gov. Connelly gets shot once in the back. People think its conspiracy, other thinks it a magic bullet. The killer Oswald Lee Harvey was found guilty and 2 days later he gets shot by a local business, Jack Ruby, which is also caught on TV.
  • Tet Offensive

    Tet Offensive
    The Tet Offensive is a communist attack on +100 targets in South Vietnam. This suprised or Americans at this time. Many people were convinced that this war was not winnable. The US forces won the battle, but lost the support, because they killed thousands of innocent people.
  • Martin Luther King Assassinated

    Martin Luther King Assassinated
    Martin Luther King Jr. was an inspirational pastor which really made people stand up to segregation and equal rights. He did non-violent protests and sit-ins with other black Americans. It was a warm, April day, KIng was giving out his most famous speech "I Had a Dream" in Memphis, Tn until he was gunned down by the former killer James Earl Ray. After that tragedy, tons race riots started to happened in dozens of cities.
  • America's Mission to the Moon

    America's Mission to the Moon
    Neil Armstrong was the first man to ever land on the moon. This was a big step in technology. JFKs goals were achieved to the max. No one would never think they would happen, oh, but it did! The US won the "space race" before the Soviets could.
  • Watergate Break-in

    Watergate Break-in
    NIxon's supporters broke into the Dem. National Headquarters trying to wire tap phones to steal information so that Nixon could win. Nixon tried to cover up for the suspects involved in this crime. He stopped the FBI from investigations and refused to give the Senate the recordings. Supreme Court ruled against Nixon, now he was forced to give them up.
  • Nixon Resigns

    Nixon Resigns
    Senate has proof on the tapes that Nixon had lied and tried to cover-up evidence. Nixon went on TV and resigned from his presidency. Next, Gerald Ford(VP) became president under Nixon. Ford, then pardoned Nixon, Americans were furious. This was more evidence that the government could not be trusted.

    Berlin Wall Comes Down
    In the 1980s the Soviets were scared to death by the Americans, thinking we've designed a Stars Wars spaceship that would use satellites to lasers to destory enemy's missiles. Soviets tried to spend billions of dollars to catch up with us and ended up being bankrupt. Their people tookover the economy and decided to overcome this wall. And eventually they did!
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    Oklahoma City Bombing
    In April 1995, a federal buling was bombed, because of anger towards the Feds over multiple issues. Two men, McVeigh and Nichols, did this outrageous crime. The results were 168 killed and 680 people wounded. McVeigh was executed. This claim to be the worst terrorist attack until 9/11.
  • 9/11 Attacks

    9/11 Attacks
    This was the worst terrorists attak in all Americas. Thousands were killed, hundreds wounded. Al-Qaeda's leader, Osama Bin Laden, planned this attack against the World Trade Center Tower. He trained his group in the Americas flight lessons. The first plane missed, second and third hit.
