    Treaty of Paris
    The traety of Paris is a document thet declared peace between Britain and its colies and france and its allies. This was supposed to allow for teh colonies to be allowed to settle farther west than the ohio river valley. However britain wanted to keep peace with nthe native americans so they denied the coloists the right to settle farther west.

    Proclamaion of 1763
    The proclamation of 1763 was an official document signed by the king of Britain. It stated that coloists couldn't continue to expand westward or they would be arrested. This was done after the seven years war/french and indian war in which colonists fought along side the british in hopes of being able to settle in then french territory.

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was an early act that put a tax on sugar and molasses. These were a popular trade item, because they were used to make rum whitch could be used over long voyages without going bad. This was imposed mainly because Great britain had debt from the french and indian war.

    The stamp act was an act that affected all colonists not just merchants like the sugar act did. It taxed things like paper legal documents newspapers, and of course stamps. Thsi affected many people in the coloies. MAny people disliked this act like the sons of liberty. People began to boycott british goods in oorder to make them repeal the act.

    The quartering act was another act that was put in place with the stamp act at around the same time. The Quartering act made american colonists house british troops against their will. On top of that the troops were only there to enforce the taxes that they didn't want.

    The boston massacre was a heavily disputed event in history. During this event an either peaceful or hostile mob was by a group of soldiers. The soldiers were supposedly agravated by the mob and were forced to fire upon them. On the other hand the mob claimed afterward that the captain gave the order to fire upon the mob unprovoked.

    The boycott on taxes had worked after a lot of protesting against them. Britain trying to make a ststement of them still eing incharge left one tax intact tea. During the time tea was a household item that everyone drank. This was a bad idea on britains part because it wold lead to very angry colonists and them losing a lot of money.

    The boston tea party was an act of protest in boston about the tea act. What happened was the sons of liberty ,dressed as mohawk indians, snuck onto a british trade ship at night and dumped many crates of tea into the boston harbor. This made britain very mad and they would later retaliate on the colonies.

    The coercive acts popularly known as the intolerable acts. Were hated among most colonists. They closed off the boston harbor and limited trade to only british goods. The colonists disliked amny of hte britsh goods and they couldn't recieve any of their prefered goods unless they came through britain.

    The 1st continental congress was a meeting of many important people in the colonies. At this meeting they discussed how they should repond to the intolerable acts. They yet again discuss boycotting british goods.

    The battles of lesington and concord were the first battles of the revolutionary war. They were fought by mainly minutemen, and boston militia. They were fought before it was decided to try to become independent from britain.

    The 2nd continental congress was afollow up meeting to the 1st continental congress. It was to discuss the possiblity of war and becoming an independent country. Becoming independent was not wanted by most people at congress. Eventually george washington was given the position of commander of the new continental army.

    The battle of bunker hill was a major battle. It was fought near Boston and was a good battle for america. We had the better ground on top of a hill firing down on British troops. Eventually with sheer numbers britain was able to dislodge us from our trenches on the hill. Although Britain tecchnically won the battle we got a moral victory by killing many more of britains troops than they killed of ours.

    Common Sense was a top selling book on chosing your side in the war and it helped convince many to join the patriot cause. Thomas Paine was the author of the book. Many copies were sold throughout th ecolonies.

    The Declaration of Independence was a document sent to many places declaring the independence of the colonies from Great Britain. It was cretaed at the 2nd continental congress. It wasn't only sent to the king ,but to many other palces to inspire revloution and create independence.

    The Battles of saratoga were fought over several months. The Battles of Saratoga were a major victory for america. It was a turning point in the war where we got more allies and we killed a lot of britains forces.

Washington and his troops snuck across the delaware river on christmas nught and killed/ many hessian and british soldiers who were drunk or off duty for christmas that night. It was an easy victory with only 7 people dead or wounded on the aerican side.

    The winter at valley forge is often assosiated with hardship and struggle. Washington and his army were short on supplies and food for the winter. Many troops deserted or left camp because the the conditions were horrible. Almost a quarter died at valley forge. Despite this many troops were trained during this time.

    This was the final major battle in the american revolution. General cornwallis of great Britains army was surrounded by the merican and french troops from all sides and was cut of from the sea. It was the last battle that decided the war.
