  • British Colonization

    British Colonization
    Pilgrims sailed on the Mayflower and found new land and settled in America. They named the settlement Jamestown, after King James the first of England. They also held the first thanksgiving. Without Pilgrims settling in Jamestown. America wouldn't be where it is now.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    Colonist got mad about different types of taxes such as the Stamp Act and the Tea Act. So on December 16, 1773 the Sons of Liberty threw tea into the Boston Harbor. That led to the American Revolution. Which changed everything.
  • Revolutionary War

    The American Revolutionary War (1775–1783), was a war between the Great Britain and the United States . The colonist thought it was unfair that they had to pay taxes. So they declared war. The main result was an American victory, with mixed results for the other powers.
  • Constitution

    Constitution
    The Constitution is the highest law in the United States. All other laws come from the Constitution in some way. It makes things like the Presidency, the Congress, Judicial, Executive, Legislative Braches and the Supreme Court. It also includes the bill of rights. Without the Constitution we would not have any laws of rules to follow.

    The conflict between the North and the South started because of their different ways of living. The North wanted the South to abolish slavery. This began the conflict that is now called the Civil War. If we didn't have the Civil War, slavery would still exist.
  • Abraham Lincoln's Assasination

    On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre. His assassination was part of a plot to help the Confederacy. Lincoln’s shooter was John Wilkes Booth, a famous actor. This made John Wilkes Booth one of the most hated men in America.

    On October 24, 1929, a stock market crash occurred in the United States. This event was the beginning of the Great Depression, which lasted for ten years. The Great Depression caused many people to die.
  • World War 2: Attack at Pearl Harbor

    World War 2: Attack at Pearl Harbor
    On December 7, 1941, Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor, a Hawaiian naval base. This attack was an attempt to keep the U.S. Navy from interfering with Japanese military actions. This was one of the worst attacks in America, besides 9/11.

    Martin Luther King Jr. Assaination
    Martin Luther King was a civil rights leader and activist. On April 14, 1968, King was shot and killed by James Earl Ray. Many people hated Martin Luther King. But he was loved by others, too. Without him we would still have discrimination in the US.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    At 8:36 an Airplane hit the north tower. Smoke went eveerywhere and people got killed. Then a few minutes later the south tower got hit. Soon people knew this was not an accident. Planes also crashed into the Pentagon in Washington DC. Then another plane crashed in Pennsylvania. It was the deadliest attack to ever happen in American history. This led to many wars in the middle east and also the death of Osama Bin Laden.
