    President McKinley was shot and killed in Buffalo New York.

  • The Wright Brothers fly

    The Wright Brothers launch their fist successful glider.

  • Howard Taft becomes President.

    Howard Taft becomes the 27th President of the US.

  • Triangle Waistshirt factory catches fire

    The factory catches fire and kills over 140 people. Most of whom were young Jewish and Italian immigrants.

  • Standard Oil company dissolved

    The monopoly of oil called the Standard Oil company was started by John Rockefeller. He was stopped by an order from the Supreme Court.

  • Titanic Sinks

    The Titanic hits an ice burg and sinks, killing thousands.

  • Woodrow Wilson becomes President

    Woodrow Wilson becomes the 28th US president.

  • World War I begins

    World War I aka the Great War begins. The war was fought between the Central powers (Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire) and the Allied Powers (Great Britain, France, Italy, Russia, Romania, Japan, and the USA). The was was started due to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria.

  • The US enters World War I

    The USA enters World War I, joining the Allied Powers.

  • World War I ends

    World War I is won by the Allied Powers, with the treaty of Versailles.

  • The 18th Amendment is passed

    The 18th Amendment prohibits the production and sale of alcohol.

  • the 19th Amendment is made

    The 19th Amendment is made, allowing Women to vote.
