    The model T was quite possibly the most sold model of car. It was far more affordable than previous cars, making it far more widespread. It helped connect the country.
  • Zimmerman Telegram

    Issued from Germany to Mexico. Said if U.S. joined the war, and Mexico fought against the U.S., then they would recover Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico.
  • WWI Armistice

    An armistice is a formal agreement to stop fighting. This doesn't always mean the end of the war, but it did for World War I
  • 19th Amendment

    Gave women the right to vote.
  • Charles Lindbergh's Flight

    Lindbergh flew non-stop from New York to Paris.
  • Black Thursday

    First Stock Market crash.
  • THe New Deal

    Series of reforms and programs meant to help alleviate the effects of the Great Depression.
  • Hitler becomes chancellor

    Pretty self-explanatory.
  • The Munich Pact

    Gave Czechoslovakia to Germany in order to prevent war.
  • Hitler Invades Poland

    Self-explanatory.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. Triggers America's entry into the war.
  • D-Day

    Ally forces invade the occupied France. All of France is freed by September that same year.
  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    Atomic bombs dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

    Self-explanatory.
  • The Long Telegram

    The Long Telegram was a message sent from the US Embassy in Moscow, outlining the Soviets beliefs. Instrumental in the start of the Cold War.

    NATO was formed. NATO was a formation of nations, similar to the UN but with different goals.

    First successful atomic bomb detonation by the Russians.

    North Korea invades South Korea.
  • Brown v Board of Education

    Segregation of schools was deemed unconstitutional.
  • The Vietnam War

    U.S. sided Sided with South Vietnam against communist North Vietnam.
  • Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat

    Was the reason for the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Helped to end bus segregation laws.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    Soviets tried installing armed nuclear missals in Cuba. US formed a naval blockade to stop them. Conflict lasted 13 days
  • JFK’s Assassination

    JFK assassinated.
  • The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

    Resolution as in, "this is what we are going to do", not as in "things were resolved." Started US involvement in Vietnam War.
  • The Apollo 11 Moon Landing

    First man on moon.
  • The Watergate Break-ins

    People broke into the Watergate hotel, where campaign stuff was being run from. Resulted in an impeachment trial being run on president Nixon.
  • The invention of the Internet

    The internet was originally created for government and military purposes. They wanted to find a way to communicate even if a bomb were to wipe out the telephone cables. Creation of TCP.
  • Nixon’s Resignation

    Nixon resigns just eighteen months into his second term. Resignation was likely caused by the impeachment investigation.
  • Fall of the Berlin Wall

    First step in the reunification of Germany and end of communism.
  • 9/11 Attacks

    Four coordinated terrorist attacks. Triggered the war on terror.
