The Reconstruction
• The Reconstruction had a lot of segregation. Like the Jim Crow Laws, which were laws that discriminate against African Americans. Also the reconstruction had segregation groups and one of the groups was the KKK (Ku Klux Klan), which was created by Nathan Bedford. -
The Industrial Revolution
• The birthplace of Industrial Revolution was Britain. Britain had coal and iron ore, which was essential to Industrial Revolution. Also the textile industry was transformed by Industrialism, because now people didn’t have to make textiles in their homes anymore. Now there were factories for that. -
Imperialism
• Imperialism was filled with war and economic discoveries. One war was the Spanish American War, which was in the late 1800’s. One industrial revolution was the Panama Canal, which connected the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Finally, Imperialism helped us to aquire Hawaii. -
World War One
• World War I brought technology, which started and ended the war. Some of the new technology was new weapons of warfare like tanks, planes, and submarines, that Americans today still build. Also Germany sent a letter to Mexico that said, “if you attack the U.S., we will give you some U.S. land”. But, it was intercepted by the British and sent to the U.S., which made the U.S. join the War. -
Prohibition
• Prohibition was a time of speakeasies, glamor, and gangsters. Also the law was broken every day, even with ordinary people. -
Great Depression and The New Deal
• The Great Depression started with the stock market crashing and the banks paying loans to invest in stock markets. In March of 1930 more than 3.2 million are unemployed. Then, Henry Ford begin a car shop called Ford Motor Company and three thousand unemployed workers go over to try to get a job. -
World War II
World War II started with Hitler's ideas to expand Germany landmarks, especially East. So on March 13,1938, Hilter decides to take over Austria and then Czechoslovakia. Then Hilter became to cockey and decided to take over poland too. Finally Great Britain and France sent Hitler a ultiamatum that said if Germany doesn't leave Poland they will begin a war against Germany. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor, which is an American naval base, was bombed by Japanese fighter planes on December 7th 1941 at 8 a.m. It lasted two hours, The Japanese destroyed 20 Americans Vessels and 8 battleships. Finally, 2,000 soldiers and sailors died and 1,000 were wounded. -
The Cold War
During World War II, the Americans and the Russians were fighting together during the war. But there were tensions between the two. Finally, the Russians resented the fact that the Americans did not think the USSR was a legitimate part of the international community as well as the delayed entry into World War II, which resulted in tens of millions Russians dead. -
The Korean War
The Korean War began when 75,000 North Korean soldiers poured across the 38th parallel. This was the first military action in the Cold War. Also the Americans allied with the South Koreans. Finally after many back and forths between the North and South Korea the war ended in a stalemate. -
The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was long and costly to North Vietnam and there southern allies, and this was known as Viet cong. The War began after the reign of Ho Chi Minh, 1954. More than 3 million people were killed during the war , and then President Richard Nixon ended the war in a withdrawal. -
The Gulf War
The Gulf War began as Operation Desert Storm. After relentless attacks on the ground and in the air, President George Bush ceased fire on February 28th and most Iraqi forces surrendered or fled. -
Semptember 11,2001
On this day 19 militants associated with an Islamic group hijacked four airliners and set out to do a suicide attack in the United States. Two planes hit the World Trade Center, the third plane hit the Pentagon, and the fourth plane hit on in island in Pennsylvania. -
Operation Enduring Freedom (up to 2003)
The Operration of Freedom was oringinally named The Operiation of Justice. Finally Bombers were used during the operation. -
Operation Iraqi Freedom
This was launched on March 20, 2003. Its goal was to remove the regime, and destroy its ability to allow terrorists to make mass destructions. -
